Port Hope & District Agricultural Society Fair Brand Guide

Port Hope & District Agricultural Society is a non-profit organization that has been promoting agriculture and supporting rural communities in Port Hope, Ontario for over 150 years. The society organizes a variety of events, such as agricultural fairs, horse shows, and craft shows, as well as providing scholarships to students pursuing agricultural studies.

Objective & Challenges

The Port Hope & District Agricultural Society approached a local design agency with the challenge of refreshing their brand identity and redesigning their website. The society felt that their current branding was outdated and didn't accurately represent their organization's values and goals. Their website was also outdated, difficult to navigate, and didn't provide a user-friendly experience.

The Process

The design agency started by conducting a discovery phase to gather information about the society's goals, values, and target audience. They also conducted a competitor analysis to see how other agricultural societies in the region were presenting themselves. Based on their research, the design agency proposed a rebranding strategy and a website redesign.

Brand Book

The design agency developed a brand book that included a new logo, color palette, typography, and messaging. The new logo features a stylized wheat sheaf, which represents the agricultural focus of the society. The color palette includes earthy tones and shades of green, which convey a sense of naturalness and growth. The typography is clean and modern, with a sans-serif font that is easy to read. The messaging emphasizes the society's commitment to promoting agriculture and supporting rural communities. The tagline, "Growing together", reflects the idea of collaboration and community building.

Website Redesign

The design agency redesigned the society's website with a focus on user experience and modern design. The new website features a clean layout, intuitive navigation, and responsive design that is optimized for mobile devices.

The home page includes a prominent call-to-action to encourage visitors to join the society or attend upcoming events. The website also features a blog section that allows the society to share news and updates with their members and the public. The events calendar is prominently displayed on the home page, making it easy for visitors to see what's coming up.

The website also includes an online store where the society can sell merchandise, such as t-shirts and hats. This provides a new revenue stream for the society and allows them to promote their brand in a tangible way.

The Deliverable

The new brand identity and website redesign have been well received by the Port Hope & District Agricultural Society and their members. The new branding accurately represents the society's values and goals, while the website redesign provides a user-friendly experience for visitors.

The society has seen an increase in online engagement and event attendance since the launch of the new website. The online store has also been successful, with many members purchasing merchandise to show their support for the society.

Overall, the rebranding and website redesign have helped the Port Hope & District Agricultural Society to better promote their organization and engage with their members and the wider community.
